Overview

 

Oversee the current payroll team, payroll and accounting transactions, and reporting activities for the consolidated Payroll department. Ensure that payroll is processed timely and accurately. Assist in payroll calculations, deductions, other employee related benefits, wage garnishments, tax filings, and child support. Ensuring adherence to policies, procedures and compliance regulations.

  • Kronos Experience
  • Experience dealing with Multi-state Payroll
  • Experience with Health Care payroll
  • Experience with tax filing and amended returns

 

Responsibilities

 

 
Oversee the payroll staff, audit, process, verify and reconcile benefit and payroll transactions processed through the payroll office to ensure that accurate pay records are maintained within the payroll system.

Reconcile and insure accuracy with review of system audit reports with the processing of each payroll. Review system input and other reports to ensure that all data has been properly processed and employees are properly paid.

Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Benefit application of the HR/PR system, state and federal income tax regulations pertaining to benefits rules and policies to effectively perform duties of verifying payments to employees.

Assist with Year End processing and Tax reconciliations. Oversee tax reporting and reconciliations for all agencies.

------------------------------------------------

Setup Benefit plans and perform audits of the plans for accuracy.

Process reports and other documentation as necessary to support timely and accurate payment of deductions withheld from employees to outside agencies.

Have a knowledge of HR/PR systems in order to assist with system upgrades, patches, and troubleshoot errors in processing.

Update Pal balances for WEO, Physician allotments,etc. and provide PAL requirement report for management bi-weekly.

Manage 401A enrollments, update the retirement plan audit file, and provide the 403 match file quarterly to HR.

Bachelor's Degree

REQUIRED:

5 years experience in payroll and/or benefits

PREFERRED:

5 years experience in both payroll and benefits
