Overview

Coordinates and supervises the daily work flow and scheduling of departmental staff. Responsible for providing feedback on daily processes and staffing issues to the Patient Accounting Manager. Assists Manager with staffing oversight, key performance reporting and analysis, QA process and other duties as assigned.

Delivers excellent customer service and optimal communication through partnering with patients/families and colleagues, including all internal and external customers.

Responsibilities


Maintain productivity and quality metrics for all departmental staff and report results to departmental Manager with suggestions for recognition and/or opportunities. Support Department Manager with review of staff quality and productivity. Assists Manager with routine staff development and education. Demonstrates a working knowledge of all departmental policies and procedures to ensure ability to support daily functions in the absence of Manager. Assists Manager with training and auditing of new policy and procedural changes and recommendations that are implemented.

Assist Manager with the oversight of daily activities of the patient accounting areas of responsibility to ensure standards are met which include staffing levels for daily assignments and is accountable and participates in the required workflow. Assist Manager with departmental rounding and communication. Reports training opportunities to Manager for continued staff education. Available to assist staff with individual questions and account resolution.

Assists department Manager with interviewing and hiring new team members. In addition, assists Manager with new employee training as well as continuing education of any changes pertinent to the assigned department. Participate in the interviewing process of new team members. Perform individual training to new team members as well as on going education. Consistently communicate to Manager educational opportunities and issues with processes as well as technological challenges.

Works closely and professionally with internal and external departments in an effort to maintain a team approach. Respond timely and effectively to requests for information from both internal and external customers. Support staff in resolving patient and departmental questions regarding their Cone Health account. Demonstrate a working knowledge of efficient account resolution by utilizing all appropriate policies and procedures.

Assists Manager with monitoring of departmental goals and makes proactive suggestions to ensure MTD and YTD financial goals are met. Consistently exhibit the appropriate level of accountability to ensure completion of special projects within the department. Identify and take the appropriate measures to resolve backlog situations due to increased volume or staffing vacancies.

Continuous education of new regulations both internally and State/Federally mandated changes. Remain current with publications. Educate teams weekly/monthly on any publications and updates.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent, Required

High school diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE:
3, Required

3 years Revenue Cycle experience required.
