Talent Pool: Nursing 
Responsible for the oversight and supervision of the nursing assistant staff and non-skilled cases. Will assist the Agency Director with orientation, competency validation and on-going education/training of the nursing assistant staff.




Client Care Related to Supervision of Non-Skilled Cases: Admits clients to the agency following established policy/procedures for this process. Makes nursing visits following through with the POC, monitoring and supervising aides, assessing, instructing, problem solving, etc., with follow-up and follow-through as indicated by client status. Assesses functional health problems/patterns in order to determine level of care and appropriateness of client for home care. Collaborates with client and family to plan for care needs and establish goals. Obtains MD's authorization/orders as indicated for plan of care. Establishes and implements a plan of care, evaluating and revising as indicated. Coordinates with other community agencies in order to promote optimal client care and assure client needs are met. Documents patient services and interventions. Participates in on-call rotation schedule to provide clinical supervision after hours and assists with after hour scheduling as indicated.


Client/Patient Care: Demonstrates knowledge of normal growth and development by identifying characteristics of pediatric, adolescent, young, middle or older adults, common health problems and needs related to physical development, motor control, communication, socialization and safety of these age groups. Maintains nursing competencies in order to provide effective client care.


Clinical Responsibilities: Identifies the patient prior to performance of any care. Follows established infection control policies/procedures. Keeps manager updated regarding problems or potential problems with patients, caregivers and physicians; and regarding work performance of peers which may adversely affect their ability to carry out a plan of care. Organizes time and priorities so that assigned activities and specific patient care orders are completed within designated time frames.


Professional Growth and Development: Establishes goals for self-improvement, documenting progress and showing definite improvement. Attends appropriate educational programs to enhance professional growth and keep up to date on patient technology/resources.


Program Integrity and Development: Assist with development of educational and competency standards for aides providing care, giving direct supervision as indicated. Works in conjunction with staff promoting open communication/problem solving to that program grows to meet community need. Assures aid staff adheres to hospital and departmental policies by providing interpretation, instruction and demonstration as indicated. Provides ongoing direct supervision for non-professional staff to include identification of problems with communication to Continuous Care program Manager. Keeps Continuous Care Program Manager informed of issues which might affect the agency; clinical activities, staff performance, client/physician problem or concerns, etc., and assists with development of a plan for resolution.


Supervision: Performs in-home supervisory visits according to established standards for each level of care. Evaluates the client's care plan and employee's performance completing and updating the client's plan of care. Evaluates the employee's clinical ability, giving direction and instructing employee as indicated, noting instruction given. Negotiates and problem solves with staff/clients/caregiver to promote client care and resolve basic conflicts. Upholds and supports agency policies and procedures. Assists with orientation of new employees, including new employee supervisory visits. Validates and documents worker competency to perform delegated care tasks. Offers direction and clarifies duties and assignments with non-professional staff. Assists with inservice programs for non-professional staff. Implements teaching programs to develop new skills and improve existing skills.




Required -

BSN required

Graduate of an accredited RN program with a current license to practice in NC

Preferred -

1 year of home care experience

Some supervisory experience is preferred


Required - 1 - 2 years direct clinical patient care experience



Drivers License | Valid Drivers License

BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider

Active NC RN license
