Overview

 
An Epic Architect partners with business analysts and engineers to define the technical requirements, principles and models that generally guide all integration solution decisions for Epic. They are responsible for analyzing and translating business, information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions that integrate across applications, systems and platforms, leveraging Epic to achieve business objectives.

 

Responsibilities

 

 
Define the system components, services, technologies, and design required to implement an Epic-based solution that addresses a specific business opportunity or problem. Include logical and physical diagrams (DFD/ERD).

Utilize Epic Web Services (including REST, SOAP and FHIR), Interconnect and Bridges modules. Configure Interconnect security, service configuration and be able to consume external web services with Epic as the client.

Create custom web services to meet the needs of the organization.

----------------------------------------------

Understands Chronicles database programming and Cache/M programming.

----------------------------------------------

Integrate applications with Epic ensuring a seamless integration of new and existing systems to eliminate potential problems and maintain data structure and integrity.

Architect the Epic future state and the path to get there, accounting for near-term product work.

----------------------------------------------

Participate in design, production procedures and standards to create prototypes and finished products. Provide ongoing maintenance, debugging, versioning and testing (bulk, functional, application, user acceptance) with Epic upgrades and as part of change management.

Document clinician-facing requirements and create related artifacts coordinating with Training as needed. Participate in interviews and workflow observations.

Bachelor?s degree

PREFERRED:

 

EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:

5+ years.

Progressive experience in a combination of IT development, design and/or architecture disciplines. Minimum of 3 years of Epic application integration (Web services, REST, SOAP, HL7, FHIR) development experience delivering quality scalable software on time, on budget, and in compliance with customer requirements.

8+ years

Epic Cache/M Programming

Valid Driver's License | If driving Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
