Overview

This position is accountable to work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department in order to provide quality safe patient care in a designated setting. Candidates have the ability to foster a Top-Tier Employee Engagement Culture throughout Cone Health.

Responsibilities


Assists in orientation and training of new employees/students.

Maintains workflow, including inventory and triaging phone calls.

Operates Pharmacy systems technology and automation.

--------------------------------------------------

Prepares, distributes and disposes of medications in compliance with current standards of practice under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.

Records patient medication histories.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Pharmacy technician diploma or enrolled in a pharmacy technician program

EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: Pharmacy technician experience is preferred and hospital pharmacy technician experience is highly preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
REQUIRED:

? Pharmacy technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire

? Registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire
