Under minimal supervision, assists the department in assuring the safe, proper and efficient maintenance and repair of building and equipment systems with proficient knowledge in two crafts. |
Demonstrates proficiency in completing corrective maintenance requests and preventive maintenance inspections accurately and timely with minimal supervision or assistance. Uses proper tools and equipment. -------------------------------------------------- Demonstrates knowledge of N.F.P.A. 101, Life Safety Code and N.F.P.A. 99, Chapters 7-5 and 7-6; current Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations Environment of Care standards; Utilities and Equipment Management requirements and current National Electrical Codes. -------------------------------------------------- Determines cause of equipment malfunctions and makes repairs to restore safe and efficient operating condition. Requires minimal assistance in troubleshooting repairs. -------------------------------------------------- Provides training for staff and retraining as required to remain current on repair and maintenance of new or modified equipment and systems. -------------------------------------------------- Demonstrates the ability to independently manage projects, as assigned. Accepts supervisory responsibilities, as needed. -------------------------------------------------- Demonstrates knowledge of hospital and departmental emergency preparedness plans, as follows: water, electrical, gas, or sewage system failures, internal or external disasters, fire procedures, etc. Also demonstrates safe working practices in the work area. -------------------------------------------------- Assists Construction Management and outside contractors with utility shutdowns to include tracing circuits in the affected areas and developing a plan to minimize the disruption to patients, visitors, and staff. -------------------------------------------------- Provides timely, legible, correct, and complete documentation on work orders, P.M.?s,, reports and estimates. Attends daily shop meetings at the beginning and end of each shift and provides any meaningful information to the next shift and the on call team. -------------------------------------------------- Demonstrates safe working practices in the workplace and maintains work area/tools in a clean and functional condition. -------------------------------------------------- |
EDUCATION: |
Required - High school graduate or equivalent Preferred - Trade school graduate with emphasis in two or more of the maintenance crafts |
EXPERIENCE: |
Required - Minimum of 10 years of experience in a trade Preferred - 5 years hospital experience |

REQUIRED Drivers License | Valid Drivers License Required - Must possess a state license in one of the following maintenance crafts: electrical, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration. Must have proficient knowledge in a second trade. PREFERRED Preferred - A second state license in an additional trade. |
