The Swim Instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction for all levels of American Red Cross swim lessons to participants of all ages and ability. You will work closely with the Manager of Recreation and Aquatics to determine lesson schedules, emergency procedures, lesson procedures/protocols, paperwork, certificates, and registration. You will help to maintain the cleanliness and order of the Aquatics Facilities. Hours may include nights and weekends. Talent Pool: Allied Health |
Effectively execute Red Cross Swim Lesson Program in either Group and/or Private format by teaching swim techniques, swim strokes and basic water safety rules to participants of varying swim abilities. ------------------------------------------------ Provide proper and thorough communication with parents and participants/Customer Service by, but not limited to, disseminating lesson information and progress reports to Parents of Participants ------------------------------------------------ Implement ground rules for swim classes with participants and enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries. ------------------------------------------------ Inspect the pool area for any swim lesson equipment that needs to be put away properly. Pick up any trash and dispose of it properly. ------------------------------------------------ |

REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent |
EXPERIENCE: |
REQUIRED: 1 year previous teaching experience and/or swim lesson instruction PREFERRED: Red Cross swim lesson program, swim coaching or lifeguard experience |
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: |
REQUIRED: Current Red Cross CPR/AED and Standard First Aid or AHA equivalent Current Red Cross CPR/AED or Red Cross equivalent CPR/AED with RCWSI Certification Valid Driver's License | If driving Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and MVR must be approved by Risk Management. PREFERRED: Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification AHA Health Care Provider BLS (CPR) |
