Overview

 

Triad Health Network (THN) is seeking a Part-time Medical Director. The Medical Director is responsible for directing physician clinical services, developing services, overseeing clinical work and projects within Value Based Care, educating physicians and other healthcare providers about the principles of Value-based care and Quality Metrics.

 

Highlights:

  • Hybrid Medical Director. Medical Director must be able to attend meetings in Greensboro, NC at times.
  • This physician will also maintain a clinical practice to complement their leadership duties, preferably at a participating practice within the THN network.
  • Emphasis will be on designing, coordinating, and managing the delivery of the optimal level of primary and specialty care to members of the care division.
  • The Medical Director will hold primary and specialty care physicians accountable for: quality of care delivered, promoting cost effective and appropriate care and overall member satisfaction and teamwork.
  • Through collaboration with the administrative team, other care divisions, and other third parties, the physician will build a market leading, next-generation community model, patient-centered program for the care division.
  • The physician will attend meetings with contracted payors to discuss network performance.

Qualifications:

  • Five years or more years of clinical experience as a BC Primary Care Provider
  • NC Medical licensure
  • Physician in good standing and no professional conduct issues.

Responsibilities


Aligns the medical division with Cone Health's strategic priorities: patient value, people, culture and access and growth. Coordinates the delivery of high quality specialty care across the service line. Works collaboratively with others, to include service line leaders, department chiefs, MFS's, CHMG staff, and CHMG leadership.

Analyzes data to determine the necessary provider representation for designated service line. Participates in the identification, selection, and monitoring of the performance of contracted specialty physicians in designated areas.

Analyzes, reviews, and shares information on utilization, patient satisfaction, quality, access, cost effectiveness and appropriateness of patient care among service line physicians. Monitors and champion's utilization of Pathways and other initiatives to reduce clinical care variation.

Responsible for the implementation of Governance. Promotes change, encourages new ideas, and champions innovation. Sets expectations and models behavior throughout the service line, Cone Health, and external organizations. Works with CHMG management and Employee Partnership regarding the identification and resolution of performance and other work related concerns for direct reports, and provides ongoing and regular feedback on departmental performance through Physician iCompass. Manages the Peer messenger and Safety Zone Portal in their respective area. Coordinates service line activities with senior management, other departments and the external physician network.

Works with primary care collaborative council and executive directors (inpatient and ambulatory) for the service lines specialties to define accountability for management of care across multiple continuums. Works with service area leaders to develop service line delivery plans that meet the needs of the members obtaining specialty care. Works to establish and successfully manage relationships with academic and community specialists.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required:
Medical degree in service line specialty
Preferred:
Masters in Healthcare, Business PhD

EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Five years or more years of clinical experience
Preferred:
Graduate of Physician Leadership Academy, leadership experience or prior medical directorships, leadership courses

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
MD | Physician
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Physician in good standing and no professional conduct issues.
Board Certification in a specialty recognized by the ABMS or osteopathic physicians (DO?s) boarded by the AOA (American Osteopathic Association) and its representatives specialty
