The student sonographer, under the supervision of a chief cardiovascular sonographer, is responsible for maintaining regulatory and professional standards and exhibiting strong decision-making capabilities. A close working relationship with Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Services leadership, cardiologists, and the medical staff is required to maintain a patient-focused service. This position is responsible to provide care for patients undergoing cardiovascular ultrasound procedures using the approved workflows and procedural protocols. Under direct supervision, performs routine and special exams consistent with established protocols to minimize repeat examinations. Exam productivity is within the established benchmark. Under direct supervision, consistently completes all exams and documentation in CHL and PACS. As directed, consistently and accurately identifies all charges associated with studies. As directed, addresses errors and resolves issues related to the study results being sent to PACS. Under direct supervision, consistently demonstrate a commitment to safe practices and support Just Culture. Commitment to using Two for Two to accurately identify patients follows procedures to avoid laterality errors and eliminate falls. Completes all annual competencies by the designated timeframe. Exemplary model using AIDET, service excellence, and service recovery. As directed, assists with patient transport as necessary. |
EDUCATION: |
REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent PREFERRED: Completed senior year of an accredited Cardiovascular, Imaging, or related educational program and/or accredited ultrasound program. |
