This position is responsible for providing diagnostic Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) for patients greater than or equal to fourteen years old, directs and coordinates other team members for the PFT rooms, performing other duties as assigned. Employees will have access to pharmaceuticals on all campuses. |

Administers tests as follows: Offers suggestions to physicians for improving patient care; Holds others accountable for performing tests according to ATS standards; Recognized as a content expert and a resource for staff; Makes strong/accurate decisions in all situation; Initiates and readily accepts the development of new skills as new services are provided by the department; Performs tests, assesses and acts in a manner that results in optimal care for patients; Performs testing at other campuses if needed; Rearranges patient care schedule according to departmental and/or patient needs; Assists in other areas as needed. -------------------------------------------------- Completes required documentation as follows: Recognized as a content expert and a resource for staff; Performs other administrative assignments with high level of accuracy resulting in improved departmental function; Seeks ways to improve efficiency; Corrects and educates staff on Breeze and documentation issues; Ensures results are reported tot he physician and/or nursing staff to optimize turn-around-time. Documents clearly and accurately on all PFT reports. -------------------------------------------------- Maintain PFT equipment areas at all locations as follows: Proactively maintains all equipment to meet regulatory requirements; Seeks ways to improve overall proficiency and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency; Provides training to all new PFT technicians as well as other staff identified by the Manager. -------------------------------------------------- Monitors and Maintains Department Supply Levels as follows: Proactively uses appropriate resources and anticipates supply/equipment needs; Always identifies ways to improve efficiency, reduce cost and improve patient care; Holds others accountable for supplies/equipment being efficiently utilized and ordered; Organizes, tracks, and orders supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and operational readiness; Coordinates campus-to-campus equipment needs, promptly acting to resolve shortages, minimize costs and meet regulatory requirements; Consistently manages stock to meet customer needs while maintaining departmental budget; Anticipates needs and communicates appropriately. -------------------------------------------------- |
