Overview

 
This position is responsible for the management of the daily operations of the cardiac and pulmonary rehab department in order to meet team, hospital and departmental objectives. This position serves the following patient age categories: adult, and geriatrics.

Responsibilities

 

 
Completes patient evaluations, treatments, reassessments and documentation/charging. Performs comprehensive, individualized patient assessments and develops appropriate treatment plans by incorporating data from all sources into initial and ongoing assessments and treatment. Takes into consideration clinical, socioeconomic, psycho-social,for care plan development. Utilizes standardized protocols and monitors effectiveness by utilizing the principles the recommendations of AACVPR. Evaluates effectiveness of interventions and education through analyzing outcome measures, clinical indicators, and patient satisfaction surveys. Establishes, monitors, and revises treatment goals, individualized to each patient. Utilizes qualitative and quantitative measures to evaluate patient status and compliance with treatment plan. Charges appropriately for treatment provided. Charges are completed in a timely manner.

Human Resources Management. Coordinates the daily clinical workload of personnel schedules, monitors and makes assignments to ensure optimal patient flow. Continuously assesses employee performance, documenting significant achievements and/or deficiencies, and coaching or counseling, as appropriate, to achieve maximum employee engagement and performance. Prepares a substantiated written performance appraisal on each assigned employee and presents via a verbal conference on a timely basis. * Provides fair and positive leadership to staff resulting in very positive employee satisfaction. Communicates effectively with staff members regarding program objectives and operations. Maintains appropriate staffing based on departmental volumes.

Outcomes Management/ Regulatory Compliance/ Performance Improvement. Coordinates activities of team to support clinical reasoning, assure appropriate care delivery, and facilitate achievement of outcomes. Takes a leadership role in ensuring compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies. Develops and implements action plans to resolve non-compliance. Takes a leadership role in development of program evaluation and management to achieve performance improvement objectives. Proactively analyzes quality reports to ensure best practice and identify opportunities for improvement. Establishes annual goals for current and future program needs.

Operations/ Fiscal Management. Demonstrates effective financial management through participation in annual budget preparation and effective management of operating budget (level of participation required may vary by department). Understands reimbursement regulations for program. Implements appropriate practice changes to maximize reimbursement. Assures staff compliance with practice requirements and appropriate charging procedures and documentation. Demonstrates and shares expertise in charging guidelines and processes for designated area.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:
Required: Graduate of an approved BSN program with a current and unrestricted NC License or Master's in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or Exercise Science.

 

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Three to five years of clinical experience in related setting..
Preferred: Supervisory experience and clinical experience in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. Evidence of successful project completion. Experience in interdisciplinary teamwork.

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
REQUIRED
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
ACLS | Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
Current valid North Carolina professional license Registered Nurse or ACSM, CEP certification.
PREFERRED
AACVPR- Certified Cardiac Rehab Professional, ACSM,RCEP.
