Overview

 

Cone Health Urgent Care is looking for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our growing Urgent Care team. Urgent Care at Elmsley Square is a 1,500-sq ft 4-exam room facility that opened in December of 2019. The Urgent Care is conjoined with Cone Health Primary Care at Elmsley Square enabling our patients to have increased access in one location.

 

As an Advanced Practice Provider on our team, you will work alongside an experienced clinical team of nurses, CMAs, radiology technologists and patient access representatives. Point of care testing and imaging are available on-site.

Job Details:

  • 80 hours (7 shifts) every 2 weeks
  • Hours of Operations for Urgent Care Reidsville: 8 am – 8 pm Monday – Friday; 8 am – 4 pm Saturday & Sunday

Responsibilities


Performs daily rounds on patients admitted into the department?s service. Consistently performs daily rounds in such a manner that meets or exceeds patient care needs and physician satisfaction.

Responds to critical or emergency care alerts within the hospital units. Consistently responds to emergent and critical alerts. Is responsive to supervising physician directives and orders, allowing for least amount of disruption to daily rounds.

Ensures continuity of care for patients, maintaining communication with the attending physician. Manages requests and notifications by pager and by phone, including necessary new orders for medications and other patient needs. Consistently coordinates patient care and manages communications in such a manner that meets or exceeds patient care needs and physician satisfaction.

Provides assessment of patients and coordinates their care with the attending and referring physicians. Consistently performs complete and accurate patient assessments that require little to no physician rework. Consistently assesses patients in such a manner that meets or exceeds patient care needs and physician satisfaction.

Reviews lab results, x-rays, and other test results with physicians, and organizes information for rounds. Consistently performs complete and accurate review of patient results. Consistently reviews and communicates results in such a manner that meets or exceeds patient care needs and physician satisfaction.

Under the guidelines of state and federal licensing, and according to hospital policies, performs patient procedures as ordered by the physicians. Consistently performs patient procedures with skill in such a manner that meets or exceeds patient care needs and physician satisfaction.

Serves as a point of contact for inpatient activities for nursing staff and physicians regarding admissions and discharges. Consistently coordinates admissions and discharges and manages communications in such a manner that meets or exceeds patient care needs and physician satisfaction. Actions have a positive impact on patient LOS.

Participates in cross coverage sign outs with physicians when appropriate. Consistently coordinates and communicates between shifts in such a manner that meets or exceeds patient care needs and physician satisfaction.

Assist in reviewing and collecting data for use in quality improvement and for monitoring outcomes. Consistently provides support in review and collection of data. Responds to requests for data as needed.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Bachelors, Required
Required: Graduate of a NP or PA educational program

EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: 1 year clinical experience specific to practice as a NP or PA preferred

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
REQUIRED
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Required: Valid NC RN License, (or RN license from a compact state) AND NC NP license
OR
Valid NC PA license
Required: DEA registration
PREFERRED
