Overview

 

The Medical Director Clinical Variation Optimization (CVO) will work closely with executive leadership, physician leaders, and the Cone Health Supply Chain Management administrative leadership to drive system wide improvement in quality of patient care delivery, reduction in waste, and improvement in cost through deployment of physician partnerships and strategic development. They will be involved in supply expense analysis, cost evaluation, quality analysis, vendor relations, and other areas that impact patient care. This role will be responsible for enrolling and communicating to the Cone Health Medical Staff Members, and act as a liaison to physicians to communicate the objectives of the CVO. They will participate as a member of the Supply Chain leadership team and the Cone Clinical Variation Optimization Committee, and as such be a change agent in development of initiatives to drive excellence in patient care, cost sustainment, and physician satisfaction.

Responsibilities

 

 
Aligns the Medical Staff with Cone Health's strategic priorities: patient value, people, culture, access, and growth.
Partners with Supply Chain Leadership to create and drive strategy for sustainable supply chain management through the engagement of medical staff.
Analyzes data to determine areas of high potential impact and develops relationships with medical staff stakeholders and other clinicians to work collaboratively for aligned change management.
Understands the dynamics of supply chain, inventory management, and cost strategies while interfacing that into the future of health care delivery.
Has excellent communication skills, commitment to transparency, and can develop key relationships in all organizational directions to build a culture of trust and inspire others.
Has good understanding of change management and process improvement and can drive action through multistakeholder teams.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:
REQUIRED:
MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
Board certified in areas of specialty
PREFERRED:
Graduate of Physician Leadership Academy (Cone Health) or equivalent

 

EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
5 years or more of clinical experience

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
REQUIRED:
MD/DO
Licensed physician in good standing with no professional conduct issues.
