Talent Pool: Nursing Support
Assesses the needs of client populations and identifies primary, secondary, tertiary prevention and health promotion strategies to optimize health, and prevent injuries and illnesses. -------------------------------------------------- Assumes professional role within work environment (industry, clinic) and serves as a knowledgeable resource to employers and employees in occupational health and safety issues, policies, laws, and regulations. -------------------------------------------------- Communicates appropriate information to employers and clients in a timely and professional manner i.e.: work related injury information, return to work status, laboratory tests and drug screen results. -------------------------------------------------- Coordinates/provides for the appropriate care, treatment, and follow-up of work related health events based on knowledge of the specific work environment. -------------------------------------------------- Documents assessments, treatments, outcomes, work and disability status, screenings and educational offerings in a thorough manner. Maintains clear and concise records for individual and corporate clients to meet the requirements of the department, the company and any applicable standards or laws -------------------------------------------------- Keeps manager and employer representative advised of all aspects of responsibilities on an on-going basis, ensuring prompt notification when problems or potential problems arise. Notifies manager immediately when they will be absent due to illness, emergencies, or planned absences. -------------------------------------------------- Maintains and safeguards confidentiality of employee health information and health records. -------------------------------------------------- Performs health screenings and health assessments i.e. post offer physical exams, wellness screenings, audiometric testing, vision screening, bloodborne pathogen exposure care and follow up, drug screening. -------------------------------------------------- Provides direct care guided by medical directives and consistent with appropriate standards, laws, and company policies. -------------------------------------------------- |
EDUCATION: |
Required - Graduate of an approved School of Nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses or Certification through Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants |
EXPERIENCE: |
Required - 3 or more years of clinic experience required Preferred - Occupational Health clinic is preferred, but if not, then Emergency Care or Critical Care experience is desired. |
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: |
REQUIRED BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider Required: LPN licensure OR Certified Medical Assistant (see below) Current and active certification as a medical assistant by one of the following: American Allied Health (AAH), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (RMA), National Healthcare Worker's Association (NHCWA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA). Preferred - Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) certified. NIOSH Respiratory Surveillance certification. DOT and non-DOT urine collection certification. Breath Alcohol Technician certification. |
