Overview

The Lean Transformation Coach, is a key resource for the Lean Transformation strategies across Cone Health. The primary responsibilities for this position is to provide training, coaching and operational support to administrators, physicians, clinicians and front-line staff for the deployment of Cone Health?s Lean management system. This position will support and work along with a Sr. Lean Transformation Coach on complex improvement efforts for clinical and non-clinical value streams through the understanding of process improvement tools and techniques, and a strong project management skills. In addition, the Lean Transformation Coach reports to the Director of the Primary Care Collaborative, and applies their knowledge of Lean principles and methods to navigate change and enroll people throughout the transformation continuum.

Responsibilities


Helps to drive the transformation culture change to the Cone Health?s Lean management system primarily through continuous improvement training and coaching across the care continuum.

Facilitates the overall improvement of performance and tracking of True North metrics (e.g. people, quality, service, costs, and growth) for hospitals, ambulatory centers, and physician practices. Facilitates deployment of Management for Daily Improvement, Visual Management, and Standard Work. Manages cadence of Value Stream Analysis and Rapid Improvement Events per the Lean Management System through proper preparation and follow up. Reports on, and develops countermeasures for performance associated with event metrics. Displays excellent collaborative behavior and practices solid project management and change leadership skills in order to help enroll relevant stakeholders.

Uses extensive knowledge of business operations and clinical workflows to inform selection and deployment of improvement work. Balances both an understanding of operational issues and Lean thinking to consult with and advises leadership and frontline staff on problem identification and problem solving for successful outcomes. Communicates with Value Stream Steering Teams, executive leadership, and relevant stakeholders on resource demands, operational needs, expected gains, and ROI potential for each improvement event. Serves as the primary point of contact and accountability partner for leaders of these teams as it relates to the Lean transformation of a Value Stream.

Reports to Lean Transformation Office on details related to project management, including but not limited to timeliness, training needs, communications, deployment team needs. Captures and celebrates successes as an integral part of this.

Devotes appropriate time to own continued education and self-development, particularly around the knowledge areas of Lean transformation, Lean thinking, performance improvement, project management, and change management.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Bachelors, Required
Bachelor's degree required, preferred in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or within any healthcare related field.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 1-2 experience directly related to continuous improve and lean tools, healthcare operations, organizational effectiveness, service excellence, and/or organizational change.
Preferred: Prior experience supporting and/or managing complex and involved projects, particularly within healthcare.
Ability to assess value, coach appropriate actions to transform practices, achieve desired operational outcomes that benefit patients first and foremost, manage breakdowns and meet deadlines.

REQUIRED
Drivers License | Valid Drivers License
PREFERRED
Lean certification, or Project management certification preferred.
