This position is responsible for the oversight and completion of the blood collection process and to assist the phlebotomy supervisor in overall department operations in order to aid the physician with diagnosis and quality patient care. |
Provides leadership for the department in meeting organizational goals and objectives; assists Supervisor with the daily activities of department employees to ensure timely, accurate reporting of laboratory procedures to include: ? Day to Day site operations ? Staffing ? Ensure Proper Phlebotomy technique ? Assist with Kronos ? Employee Time Keeping ? Time and Attendance record maintenance ? Take call for staffing/solving problems ? Prepares and distributes monthly employee performance reports ? Orders supplies for site -------------------------------------------------- Monitor Quality Improvement to maintain effective site operations and meet accreditation standards. ? Monthly cart checks for expired tubes ? Assist with monthly QA ? Provides follow up information to Supervisor regarding departmental incidents and Safety Zone Portals. ? Act as trainer for other phlebotomists and students in order to enhance departmental performance. -------------------------------------------------- Assists with meeting department Patient Satisfaction Goals to include ? EDUCATION: |
Required - High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred - Bachelor's degree |
EXPERIENCE: |
Required - minimum 2 years clinical experience in a high complexity laboratory Preferred - relevant leadership experience |
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: |
REQUIRED BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider Current Phlebotomy licensure from one of the following approved agencies: ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) OR ASPT (American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians) OR NHA (National Healthcareer Association) PREFERRED |
