Overview

 
The Painter supports with the painting and refinishing of the hospital and buildings owned by the organization. Working under close supervision, this role helps fix remodeled or damaged areas to ensure the organization is aesthetically finished and well-kept. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 4:00PM but flexible when needed.

Responsibilities

 

 
  • Prepares walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint.
  • Mixes paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture.
  • Paints surfaces according to instructions with various tools.
  • Coordinates the repairs and maintenance of hospital areas as needed as work orders come in to maintain an acceptable appearance.
  • Documents work completed in work orders and reports to provide timely records of open and closed projects.
  • Communicates project updates on painting progress to the next shift and on-call team at daily shop meetings so the workload can be assessed for incoming staff.
  • Ensures that areas around the painting site are kept clean of paint spills and cleans areas as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:
Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent

 

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 1 year of experience in painting, wallpapering, or flooring installation
