Overview

The Healing Touch Practitioner serves as the primary provider of Healing Touch services to patients, clients, and staff throughout the Cone Health system.  They educate the staff and community on the efficacy and availability of Healing Touch services and work with partners in Department of Spiritual Care and Counseling and Cone Health to provide Employee support through Healing Touch and other means appropriate.

Responsibilities

Holds hands 2 to 4 inches away from patient's body while moving from head to feet to assess the energy field around the patient's body.

Locates a congested or blocked area and moves hands in a rhythmic motion, starting at the top of the blocked area and moving down and away from the patient's body.

Repeats the rhythmic motion until the therapist no longer senses congestion or until the patient begins to feel relief.

Visualizes and transmits life energy to specific areas of patient's body, also intended to correct imbalances.

Asks patients how they feel following the session and may recheck patient's energy field to make sure blockages were not overlooked.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
Required: Masters' Degree of Divinity with one unit of ACPE accredited Clinical Pastoral Education, RN with a Bachelors' Degree of Nursing,

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in a healthcare facility

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Certified as a Healing Touch Practitioner by Healing Touch Program or Healing Beyond Borders; Valid Registered Nurse license (if BSN), and LCMHC, LCSW or relevant current counseling certification
Preferred: Caregiver certifications relevant to employee support such as Mindfulness or Trauma Informed Care.
