Overview

 

The Director of Clinical Program Development plays a pivotal role in advancing the strategic goals of our clinically integrated healthcare system. This position is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs aimed at enhancing patient care, improving clinical outcomes, and driving operational efficiency within our healthcare network.

Responsibilities

 

 

Preparation for Program Development
-Develop Comprehensive Program Plans: Design and outline clinical programs that align with organizational goals and objectives, considering factors such as patient needs, regulatory requirements, and best practices in healthcare
-Conduct Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify gaps in existing clinical services or opportunities for improvement, gathering input from stakeholders including healthcare professionals, administrators, and patients.
-Research and Evidence-Based Practice: Stay abreast of current research, evidence-based practices, and industry trends in clinical care to inform program development and ensure that programs are grounded in best practices and the latest clinical evidence.


Program Development and Implementation:
-Define Program Objectives and Metrics: Clearly define program objectives, outcomes, and performance metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of clinical programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
-Develop Program Protocols and Guidelines: Establish protocols, guidelines, and standardized procedures for the delivery of clinical services within each program, ensuring consistency and quality of care across all settings.
-Lead cross-functional teams in the design, development, and implementation of new clinical programs, services, and initiatives.
-Utilize evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective care.
-Oversee the development of program protocols, policies, and procedures to standardize clinical processes across the organization.
-Monitor program performance metrics and outcomes, implementing continuous improvement initiatives as needed.


Stakeholder Engagement:
-Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, clinicians, department heads, and external partners, to garner support and collaboration for program initiatives.
-Serve as a liaison between clinical staff, administration, and external organizations to promote interdisciplinary teamwork and alignment.
Post Program Implementation
-Monitor Program Performance: Regularly monitor and evaluate the performance of clinical programs, track key performance indicators, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement or modification to optimize program effectiveness.
-Facilitate Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts to continuously improve clinical programs through ongoing assessment, feedback collection, and process refinement, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in clinical care delivery.


Training and Development
-Provide Education and Training: Develop educational materials and conduct training sessions for staff members involved in clinical program delivery, ensuring that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively implement program protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Pharmacy or Master's degree in Healthcare Administration
Preferred:
Master's degree in health administration or business administration preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare management, with a focus on clinical program development.
Minimum of 3 years experience in value-based care, ACOs, or clinically integrated networks.
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, project management, and change management.
Proven track record of driving results, improving clinical outcomes, and managing complex initiatives within budget and timeline constraints.
Preferred:
Leadership role(s) preferably within a clinically integrated healthcare system or similar setting.

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
Clinical licensure (e.g., RN, NP, MD)
Valid Driver's License
Preferred:
Certified Case Management
