Overview

The Pharmacy Technician Coordinator oversees the coordination and management of pharmacy technician activities. This position supervises team members to ensure the efficient and accurate dispensing of medications, maintaining inventory control, and supporting the overall operations of the pharmacy department.

Responsibilities


Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of pharmacy technicians, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Oversees the accurate and timely dispensing of medications, including reviewing prescriptions, preparing medications, and labeling and packaging pharmaceutical products.
Maintains inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering medications and supplies, and conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Collaborates with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide support and assistance in medication management and patient care.
Trains and mentors pharmacy technicians, ensuring ongoing professional development and adherence to best practices and quality standards.
Maintains accurate records and documentation of pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, inventory management, and patient information.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associate degree in pharmacy technology or other healthcare related degree

EXPERIENCE:
Required: At least 2-years of experience working in a comparable pharmacy setting
Preferred: Leadership experience and involvement in regulatory compliance activities or oversight

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire. Registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
