Overview

Come join our dynamic team at Cone Health Pediatric Rehab in Burlington!  Our team has two PT’s, two other OT’s and three SLP’s.  The patient caseload offers a variety of diagnoses including sensory processing disorder, lack of coordination and fine motor skills, developmental delays, difficulty with ADL’s, autism, hyperactivity, etc.  We treat our patients one-on-one for 45 minute sessions. The Occupational Therapist II evaluates patient?s conditions, plans, organizes, and participates in rehabilitative programs that facilitates return to optimal functional abilities, improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and decrease or prevent deformity of patients suffering from disease or injury, including patient and family education. This position is able to effectively and efficiently treat all patients in their clinical practice setting and complete all occupational therapy job functions with minimal guidance. This therapist initiates communication amongst inter-disciplinary team members, treats familiar patients with confidence, and advocates for their patients and team. This therapist may require mentoring/guidance in complex situations and may have difficulty with cross coverage to other settings.

 

Responsibilities

 

 
Evaluates and treats all diagnoses and more complex patients.
Conducts thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities, medical history, and functional limitations to develop individualized treatment plans.
Administers therapeutic exercises and other occupational therapy interventions to improve patients' strength, flexibility, and range of motion.
Educates patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercises, and self-management techniques to improve recovery outcomes.
Collaborates with other in developing and implementing discharge plans and recommendations for continued care and may require some guidance from other team members.
Monitors and documents patients' progress, treatment outcomes, and responses to interventions so that treatment plans can be adjusted as needed.
Collaborates on teams from different departments to ensure coordinated patient care and holistic treatment outcomes.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy

 

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 years

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Licensed by the North Carolina Occupational Therapy Board; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
