Overview

The Pharmacy Technician III Certified Acute Care performs complex functions in compounding and pharmacy distribution or pharmacy distribution functions and medication histories necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Working under limited supervision, this role maintains workflows, troubleshoots complex situations and technology, and maintains quality of regulatory activities.

Responsibilities

Maintains pharmacy workflow including but not limited to compounding hazardous and non-hazardous IV medications, distribution of medication in compliance with current standards or obtaining a complete and accurate medication history based on organization standard.

Serves as a reference for other pharmacy technicians.

Serves as a mentor in the training and orientation of new employees.

Communicates effectively with team members in and outside of pharmacy, providing quality customer service.

Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 5 years (consider 4 years). Successful completion (graduation) of CH accredited technician training program is equivalent to 2 years of experience.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician and must complete an 'advanced pharmacy technician certification' within 12 months of starting the role.
