Overview

Overview: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides specialized care to patients with mental health conditions in collaboration with a psychiatrist(s). The APP assesses patients, interprets diagnostic test/results, and develops and implements treatment plans to address the patient's unique needs in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities: The APP role requires a high level of clinical expertise and the ability to work with patients who may have complex mental health needs. Psychiatric care can include both Inpatient and the outpatient setting as full time, part time and/or relief at one or more of several behavioral health facilities within the Cone Health system.

Qualifications: North Carolina Board of Nursing Nurse Practitioner License. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification preferred. Physician Assistant-Certified and current North Carolina Medical Board License. One to three years’ experience + in an inpatient and/or outpatient psychiatric setting strongly preferred.

Community Information: Our providers truly enjoy living in the best part of the United States. We have excellent public, private and charter school options for K-12 and beyond. North Carolina is home to several professional sports teams and some of the most intense rivalries in college sports. Nationally acclaimed cultural events include the annual Eastern Music Festival, Greensboro Symphony, museums, and performing arts arenas. Weekend adventures are right in our area - historic districts, landmarks, wineries and vineyards, festivals, and seasonal events. The region is home to eleven four-year colleges/universities and nine community colleges. With so much to do, North Carolina is an ideal place to live, work and play.
