Our Kidney Dialysis Unit (KDU), located at Annie Penn Hospital, is a 2-bay suite with a primary focus on patients with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) and Acute Kidney Injury (AKI). Responsibilities
Monitors and assesses patients' vital signs and overall condition during dialysis sessions to ensure safe and effective treatment.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments, including heparin administration and fluid management, to patients undergoing dialysis.
Operates and maintains dialysis equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and cleanliness for each session.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to patients' specific needs.
Educates patients and their families about the dialysis process, self-care techniques, and dietary restrictions to promote optimal outcomes and quality of life.
Performs other duties as assigned. |

Qualifications
EDUCATION: |
Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing |
|

|
EXPERIENCE: |
Required: 2 years as a Registered Nurse and 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations |
|
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: |
Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider |
