Watches discussion between technologists physicians regarding which area of the patient?s body needs imaging. Develops the ability to talk the patient through the procedure and answer questions to lower their anxiety and increase their understanding of the procedure. Learns to position the patient correctly and adjusts the imaging equipment to the specified position to create quality images of specific parts of the body. Prevents unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient. Follows correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding to ensure adherence to ensure accurate and reliable diagnostic imaging services. Assists with completing required documentation for each procedure to ensure proper patient records and facilitate seamless communication among healthcare providers. Performs other duties as assigned. |
