Overview

The Mobility Specialist II coordinate safe patient care, with a focus on mobility, in collaboration with other members of the health team. Working under general supervision, this role supports patients with mobility related tasks and monitors physiological status in order to provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities


Assists patients with mobility activities including, but not limited to, getting in and out of bed, transfers, and ambulation in order to support the care plan and mobility.
Monitors and documents physiologic changes in patients in order to report to the nurse and adjust activity appropriately.
Assists with orienting new mobility specialists on mobility services in order to educate them on proper body mechanics, safe mobilization techniques, fall risk, equipment maintenance, and patient service.
Supports in the development of an effective mobility program in collaboration with members of the nursing and rehabilitation departments.
Communicates logistical problems with equipment and repairs in order to ensure that supplies are properly functioning for timely patient care.
Communicates effectively with patients and families in order to relay information and maximize customer satisfaction.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's Degree in exercise-related field

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 1 year

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
