The CV Sonographer Outpatient Dual Registered performs non-invasive vascular and cardiac exams to assess for vascular or cardiac disease or disorders under the supervision of the department supervisor. The sonographer delivers excellent customer service to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients/families and colleagues, including all internal and external customers. |
Performs routine and special exams consistent with established protocols with good diagnostic quality. Analyzes test data and accurately communicates findings to reading cardiologists to aid in proper diagnosis and treatment planning and ensure seamless collaboration between the sonographer and cardiologists. Operates, troubleshoots, and requests repair of all testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results and promote patient safety and efficient workflow. Maintains professional and CPR certification to adhere to industry standards and ensure readiness to respond to any cardiac emergencies that may arise. Administers image enhancing agent as ordered to optimize quality of echocardiogram. Performs other duties as assigned. |
EDUCATION: |
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent |
EXPERIENCE: |
Required: 1 year experience of relevant patient care in an allied health field |
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: |
Required: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from ARDMS or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) from CCI or Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography (RT-VS) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); BLS (CPR)- American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare provider. |
