Overview

The Cardiographic Trainee works under the supervision of a Certified Cardiovascular Technologist, physician, PA, and/or NP to perform routine and stat Electrocardiograms (ECGs). The Cardiographic Trainee can assist and observe the performance of nuclear stress tests, exercise stress tests, and stress echocardiograms. The position delivers exceptional customer service through prioritization of patient safety, preferences, and effective communication. The role partners with patients, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders to deliver accurate cardiac diagnostics, patient-centered care, and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities


Assists in performing and reporting results of ECGs promptly and accurately to ensure high-quality diagnostic information for timely patient care.
Assists in conducting high-risk and low-moderate risk cardiovascular tests under supervision to provide valuable diagnostic insights for physicians' assessment and treatment planning.
Supports the preparation and editing of ECG and exercise ECG test results efficiently to facilitate timely distribution to relevant divisions and physicians for informed decision-making.
Supports the management of ECG charge entry and reconciliation across the healthcare system to ensure accurate billing and financial processes.
Assists with the performance of quality assurance measures to maintain the integrity and reliability of lab activities and procedures to contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
Supports the maintenance and testing of equipment to ensure its proper functioning and safety for accurate diagnostic testing.
Assists in conducting high-risk and low-moderate risk cardiovascular tests under supervision to provide valuable diagnostic insights for physicians' assessment and treatment planning.
Works towards BLS and ACLS certification within the required certification period to ensure readiness to respond to emergency situations in the cardiac care setting.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Pass Certified Cardiographic Technologist exam by Cardiovascular Credentialing International within 24 months of start date.
ACLS certification within one year of hire.
