Overview

The Emergency Department Technician uses skills in emergency care to support patients in the ED. Working under limited supervision for routine situations, this role coordinates the analysis of patient needs to optimize care delivery and supports processes to implement comprehensive care plans, contributing to the optimization of care in the ED.

Responsibilities


Documents patient conditions and treatment plans and maintains a detailed record to ensure continuity and consistency in patient care.
Processes recommendations for patient care in the ED, applying knowledge of emergency care to support optimal patient outcomes.
Assists with the delivery of emergency care, leveraging skills and knowledge to support medical professionals in managing acute situations.
Handles routine ED situations under limited supervision, using problem-solving skills to ensure timely and effective patient care.
Keeps documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans in order to maintain accurate and updated records.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 6 months related experience

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
EMT | Emergency Medical Technician
NAI | Nursing Assistant I
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Current Nurse Aide I with the North Carolina Division of Facility Services and completion of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course with current NC certification.
