Overview

The Student Ultrasound Assistant, under the supervision of department leadership, is responsible for maintaining regulatory and professional standards and exhibiting strong decision-making capabilities. A close working relationship with Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Services leadership, cardiologists, and the medical staff is required to maintain a patient-focused service. This position is responsible to provide care for patients undergoing cardiovascular ultrasound procedures using the approved workflows and procedural protocols. Cardiovascular ultrasound student assistants in this position can demonstrate full knowledge of Ultrasound equipment.

Responsibilities


Under direct supervision, performs routine and special exams consistent with established protocols to minimize repeat examinations. Exam productivity is within the established benchmark.
Under direct supervision, consistently completes ALL exams and documentation in CHL and PACS.
As directed, consistently and accurately identifies ALL charges associated with studies.
As directed, addresses errors and resolves issues related to the study results being sent to PACS.
Under direct supervision, consistently demonstrate a commitment to safe practices as outlined by departmental policies. Exemplary customer service and service recovery.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 0-1 years in Healthcare-Ultrasound Training

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
