Overview

Overview: The Psychiatric Physician at Cone Health can practice in a variety of clinical settings, (inpatient, outpatient, hybrid, full time, part time and/or relief) and at one of several facilities within the Cone Health system. To include but not limited to Behavioral Health Hospital, Behavioral Health Unit Crisis Center and outpatient locations in Greensboro, Kernersville, Reidsville and Burlington. The Cone Health Psychiatrist is accountable for providing exceptional care to our patients as well as completing all clinical responsibilities.

 

Responsibilities: Provides multidisciplinary team coordination services to the assigned areas. Provides mentoring, as needed to Cone Health psychiatry residents and other students. Provides independent judgment in diagnosis and treatment of patients, formulation of treatment plans, and direction of the interdisciplinary team (advanced practice providers) in achieving the goals of the patient care plan. Models and upholds the professional standards of MCHS including the Medical Staff By-Laws, Service Excellence commitments, practice standards, physician expectations and professional image standards. Participates, as needed, in medical audits, quality improvement programs, investigations, peer review, and other inquiries relating to the standards of professional care. Engages in continuous improvements and use of evidence-based practices working towards preeminent healthcare and service (with outcomes moving into the 90th percentile or above). Maintain records in accordance with the policies of MCHS, applicable laws and regulations. participates in development of clinical guidelines, procedures, programs, and makes recommendations to improve quality and efficiency of care. Shares specifically designated on-call responsibilities as needed with other physician members of the assigned areas. Teaching and education; provision of educational conferences for residents, faculty, students and teams to include Grand Rounds, Journal Clubs, Noon Conferences, Medical Student Lectures, Clinical Improvement Conferences, Board Review sessions and others as assigned. Mentoring of medical students, APP students and residents. Provide clinical supervision to students and residents on rotations as assigned.

 

Qualifications: Board certification in Psychiatry (Fellowship training for child-adolescent). North Carolina Medical License. North Carolina Drug Enforcement Administration License.
