Overview

 

The Audit Policies Analyst monitors, evaluates, and tests financial records, processes, and systems. This role supports the examination, evaluation, and reporting of financial, operational and managerial processes and systems. This role coordinates reviews for audit testing to ensure established laws, regulations and policies are met by the organization.

 

Strongly Preferred Qualifications: previous auditing project experience in a healthcare setting and very strong understanding of billing and collections in a hospital or other healthcare setting.

 

Responsibilities

 

 
Participates in activities such as the execution of detailed programs for audits, the review of financial, operational, compliance and risk systems, processes and procedures to determine efficiency, effectiveness and alignment with internal policies, procedures, regulations and industry standards.
Performs monthly audits of Revenue Cycle accounts as identified in the Corporate Compliance Plan to find any financial or reporting irregularities and report them to the correct staff member within the organization.
Participates in corrections done through the compliance program, serving as a project manager to help the target area maintain or gain compliance.
Documents performance and productivity of operational and financial processes.
Audits insurance payments, documenting any non-compliance of payments by reviewing credit balance accounts to identify lost revenue, bringing it to the attention of relevant parties.
Maintains audit files and review manuals, policies, reports, financial statements, and other written materials to collect information.
Reviews policies and procedures to stay up to date with any potential changes to organizational or governmental standards, flagging alterations to relevant policies or procedures to staff members so they can be aware of the changes.
Educates staff on audit findings, working with educational and audit staff to provide clinical and non-clinical staff relevant information related to the audit that can improve their functionality in the future through recognizing areas of improvement related to compliance.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:
Required: Associates Degree

 

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 4 years experience in a medical setting
