Overview

 
The Annie Penn Hospital Administrator is accountable for leading and directing operations of the 110-bed hospital, strategic initiatives, quality, and financial performance of Annie Penn. In this role, the Administrator is responsible for achievement of goals as defined by the organization and establishment of site-specific goals/metrics. The Administrator is also accountable for developing and executing strategies to improve health equity, access to care, to sustain long term financial viability, improve quality of care, support philanthropic initiatives, and ensure community engagement and brand loyalty. The Administrator represents the hospital and Cone Health in external activities in the Reidsville community and Rockingham County. The Annie Penn Hospital Administrator reports to the SVP and Hospital President for Alamance Regional and Annie Penn. The Chief Nursing Officer and the Administrator represent the localized leadership presence for operations, in support of the President's leadership.

 

Responsibilities

 

 
Serves as the administrative leader responsible for site operations, including strategic planning, financial management, quality of patient care, staff leadership

Promotes the development and execution of initiatives to improve health equity. Serves as a champion for initiatives that promote l access to care for the underserved.

Provides overall leadership for integration, planning, development, and evaluation of all site departments, services, and programs, through direct or matrix reporting relationships.

Provides leadership for the development of quarterly budgets and monitoring of budget variances including revenues, expense, staffing, and productivity for designated departments. Ensure financial viability of the assigned areas.

Monitors and controls the development and implementation of strategies to grow services and revenue, control costs, reduce turnover, promote a diverse and inclusive workforce, and improve quality.
Supports systemwide goals and initiatives and promote the enterprise. Works closely with other Hospital leaders and Systemwide leaders to achieve organizational goals and initiatives.

Collaborates with Medical Staff and Chief Medical Officer to promote high provider engagement and reduce burnout. Lead initiatives to reduce barriers to provide safe, efficient care practices. Serve as an administrative representative on various Medical Staff Committees.

Implement strategies for improving quality in keeping with organization strategies. Ensure effective quality within all areas of responsibility to meet regulatory requirements and to meet quality expectation of patients and their families, physicians, and payers.
Oversees construction, renovations, and space planning for the campus to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients, employees/physicians, volunteers, and visitors that is in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Maximize productivity of Human Resources, develops and maintains programs to attract and retain all employees , medical staff providers clinicians Work with staff and managers to continuously improve employee satisfaction. Promote a racially diverse workforce.

Serves as administrative liaison to the board and maintains positive communicative working relationships with board members and community key stakeholders.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:
Required: Masters degree in health care administration or in Business Administration. A masters degree in a clinical field will be considered for candidates with more than 5 years of leadership experience in an integrated, complex healthcare setting.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Required:
5 years of Leadership experience in an integrated, complex healthcare setting.
Preferred:
3-5 years experience in a rural healthcare setting

Acute care leadership experience strongly preferred.

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
Preferred: Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives
