Overview

The Heart and Vascular Service Line at Cone Health provides comprehensive, high-quality cardiovascular care. We offer a range of diagnostic, interventional, and surgical services, supported by cutting-edge technology and a multidisciplinary team of experts.

 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to support the operational, clinical, and strategic initiatives within the Heart and Vascular Service Line. This internship offers exposure to healthcare administration, quality improvement, clinical workflows, and patient care strategies in a fast-paced cardiovascular services environment.

 

This internship position is a time-limited, temporary position with a start date and orientation on 9/15/25. The total number of hours that an intern can work during this timeframe is 250 hours.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in the collection and analysis of clinical and operational data for quality improvement projects
  • Support development and implementation of patient care programs, outreach, and education materials
  • Participate in service line meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams (nursing, physicians, administration)
  • Shadow clinical staff (as permitted) to understand patient flow and care coordination
  • Help prepare presentations, reports, and dashboards for leadership review
  • Conduct literature reviews and benchmarking on heart and vascular care best practices
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives such as program development, community outreach, and patient experience enhancement
 

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (Public Health, Health Administration, Nursing, Biology, or related field preferred)

 

EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong interest in cardiovascular healthcare and healthcare operations
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare setting
