Overview

 

The Telecommunications Operator supports the responses to various internal and external telephone inquiries for information and direction to provide superior customer service. Working under close supervision, this position facilitates the distribution of various forms of information in emergency situations.

 

This position is relief/as needed. The times will largely focus on 1st and 2nd shift in the Greensboro area at Moses Cone and Wesley Long Hospitals.

 

Responsibilities

 

 
Serves as a first point of contact for incoming internal and external calls to ensure patient information is delivered quickly and accurately.
Supports the operation of communication systems, including telephone switchboard, radio, and emergency notification systems.
Contacts individuals regarding calls through paging or interoffice equipment to connect appropriate resources to related problems.
Relays emergency messages received with written or verbal messaging to provide context to those supporting the emergency situations.
Utilizes technology to complete data entry or word processing tasks, including updating directories and typing or proofreading documents.
Assists in logistical arrangement of schedules for internal stakeholders in order to coordinate meetings and staffing.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

 

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 1 year
