The Cardiac Sonographer Inpatient Non-Registered performs various cardiac ultrasound procedures under heavy supervision of department supervisor. The role delivers excellent customer service utilizing Relationship Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients/families and colleagues, including all internal and external customers. |
Performs routine and special exams consistent with established protocols with good diagnostic quality. Analyzes test data and accurately communicates findings to reading cardiologists to aid in proper diagnosis and treatment planning and ensure seamless collaboration between the sonographer and cardiologists. Operates, troubleshoots, and requests repair of all testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results and promote patient safety and efficient workflow. Maintains professional and CPR certification to adhere to industry standards and ensure readiness to respond to any cardiac emergencies that may arise. Performs other duties as assigned. |

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: |
Required: Eligible for Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Required to obtain RDCS or RCS within 18 months of start date. |
