Overview

The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor oversees the coordination and management of pharmacy technician activities. This position supervises team members to ensure the efficient and accurate dispensing of medications, maintaining inventory control, and supporting the overall operations of the pharmacy department.

Responsibilities


Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of pharmacy technicians, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including human resource responsibilities.
Collaborates with pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals to provide support and assistance in medication management and patient care.
Trains and mentors pharmacy technicians, ensuring ongoing professional development and adherence to best practices and quality standards.
Maintains accurate records and documentation of pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, inventory management, and patient information.
Performs other duties as reasonably required or assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associate degree in pharmacy technology or other degree

EXPERIENCE:
Required: At least 7-years of experience working in a comparable pharmacy setting
Preferred: Leadership experience and involvement in regulatory compliance activities or oversight

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT); Pharmacy technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire. Registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Advanced Certification (i.e. Controlled Substance Diversion Prevention, Medication History, Hazardous Drug Management, etc.) in the area the technician supervises or Leadership program within 12 months of hire.
