The Pharmacy Technician Coordinator oversees the coordination and management of pharmacy programs across campuses to ensure the efficient and accurate operations of the pharmacy department. |
Coordinates work activities of pharmacy program for which they have oversight by ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals to provide support and assistance in medication management and patient care. Trains and mentors pharmacy staff, ensuring ongoing professional development and adherence to best practices and quality standards. Maintains accurate records and documentation of pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, inventory management, and patient information. Performs other duties as required or assigned. |
EDUCATION: |
Required: High school diploma or equivalent Preferred: Associate degree in pharmacy technology or other healthcare related degree |
EXPERIENCE: |
Required: At least 7 years of experience working in a comparable pharmacy setting Preferred: Leadership experience and involvement in regulatory compliance activities or oversight |
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: |
Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Pharmacy technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire. Registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire. Advanced Certification (i.e. Controlled Substance Diversion Prevention, Medication History, Hazardous Drug Management, etc.) in the area the technician coordinates within 12 months of starting the role. |
