The Chaplain Resident assists with offering spiritual guidance and pastoral care to patients and their families. Working under close supervision, this role is developing to use the insights and principles of psychology, religion, spirituality, and theology to support and encourage people of all religious faiths and cultures. |
The next residency cohort will begin on January 5, 2026. This is a year long residency.
Assists with spiritual care visitations to patients to provide consistent spiritual and emotional care. Supports the assessment of spiritual needs and provides consultation to patients, families and caregivers in a timely and supportive manner. Supports provision of emotional and spiritual support to Cone Health employees. Writes up notes for the medical staff and makes recommendations to help improve the patient?s mindset and emotional comfort. Participates in all aspects of the CPE program to further their education and certification. Performs administrative tasks, such as taking calls and filling out bereavement cards that enable staff Chaplains to focus on consulting patients, families, and other staff. Performs other duties as assigned. |
EDUCATION: |
Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university/theological school or equivalent combination of education/relevant experience; Completion of one CPE unit |
