Overview

 
The Grants Accountant Senior ensures the timely and accurate financial record keeping and reporting of Cone Health's grants. With minimal oversight, this job reconciles the organization's accounts and records (balance sheet, profit and loss, and bank accounts). The Grants Accountant Senior works closely with other team members in the grant management process to ensure that the grants are recorded and reported appropriately and compliant with grant requirements.

 

Responsibilities

 

 
Follows grant financial management policies and procedures to ensure that grants are properly accounted for and tracked in accordance with grant requirements. Compiles and provides documentation and analysis for audits conducted by grantors or external auditors.
Assists management in regularly communicating and highlighting the progress and status of the grants to all needed recipients, including Board presentations.
Prepares timely and accurate financial reports for grantors according to grant agreements and reporting deadlines.
Works closely with business areas on ledger processing and facilitates the maintenance of grant and Foundation accounting statements, Board Reports, and Grant/Foundation-related ledger accounts. Collaborate with finance, philanthropy, and research teams to ensure alignment of grant activities with organizational goals.
Establishes awards, award budgets, grants and grant-related line items within the general ledger. Monitors grant-related expenses to create invoices to submit for grant reimbursement to the Organization.
Ensures compliance with grant regulations, including federal, state and private foundation requirements. Reviews journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. Stays updated on changes in grant regulations and reporting requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.
Serves as a resource for program staff on grant-related financial matters, providing guidance and support as needed.? Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's Degree

 

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 4+ years accounting experience
