Overview

The Pediatric Teaching program, along with the PICU and pediatric subspecialists, are the home for the Pediatric Primary Care residency as well as the pediatric rotations for all UNC medical students. As such, we need to fulfill our ACGME-required task of dissemination of scholarly activity. This position is a research assistant to help with ongoing pediatric research projects.

Goals for the department:

1) Improve the scholarly output of the Pediatrics department by providing assistance with data collection for research projects

2) Partner with local universities to recruit undergraduate students to serve as interns. This will help facilitate health careers for members of our community – especially those who are first generation college students - who can be future health care providers for Cone Health.

This internship position is a time-limited, temporary position with a start date and orientation on 1/26/26.

The total number of hours that an intern can work during this timeframe is 250 hours.
