Overview

The Medical Assistant Lead Certified oversees, plans, develops, and organizes various clinical and administrative support activities in the practice in order to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of quality health care to patients. Working under moderate supervision, this role provides support to nursing, lab, clerical, and Physician staff in order to facilitate positive patient outcomes and care.

Responsibilities


Acts as a role model and advocate for compliance with policies and procedures, being fully knowledgeable of policies and educating others on necessary changes in practice.
Assesses staff training needs and works with clinic leadership on training and development programs.
Assists with dissemination of information, education and outreach materials to support training and development efforts.
Cross trains other locations outside of their primary clinic, organizing and teaching annual education sessions to staff.
Assists in emergency situations as directed by a provider or nurse, ensuring prompt and effective response and contributing to the overall safety and well-being of patients.
Serves as point of contact for clinic questions/concerns and escalates issues to leadership if needed.
Coordinates staff schedules and ensures office space, supplies, and assistance are available and maintained.
Performs clinic and administrative duties, such as giving injections, taking vital signs, and performing simple diagnostic tests.
Maintains examination rooms and sterilizes and cleans equipment at various sites in order to ensure a positive patient experience and state-of-the-art care.
Ensures policies and practices within the practice are up to date with State, Federal, and Practice guidelines.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Medical Assistant Program

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum of 3 years of clinical and administrative experience as a Medical Assistant Certified with proven ability to organize and lead the daily work in a busy medical practice.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA)/Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required from one of the following: American Associate of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Allied Health - RMA(AAH), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (RMA), National Healthcare Worker's Association (NHCWA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
