Overview

The Anesthesia Technician assists medical professionals through the preparation of equipment and supplies for the completion of medical procedures under anesthesia. Working under close supervision, this role supports the care team to deliver superior care to patients of all ages.

Responsibilities


Assists in determining the supply and equipment needs for procedures so that there will be sufficient supply for operating room needs.
Handles the setup and calibration of monitoring devices in the operating rooms so that patient vital signs can be accurately recorded.
Troubleshoots any Anesthesia equipment malfunctions and reports any issues for repair in order to prepare ALL equipment for upcoming surgeries.
Cleans Anesthesia machines and equipment in accordance with the guidelines distributed by Infection Control in order to maintain sterile equipment.
Stocks Anesthesia supplies, including Ploss carts, fiberoptic carts, and emergency airway bags in order to prevent supply outages during active surgery.
Helps Anesthesia providers with non-invasive and invasive procedures, including line placement and airway management techniques so that patients can breathe during surgery.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 1 year

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: BLS (CPR) - American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Preferred: American Society of Anesthesia Technologist and Technicians ASATT
