Overview

 
The Scheduler III performs a verity of functions related to the scheduling of facility based surgical, imaging or other functions. Working under limited supervision, this role helps ensure that all pre-registration and authorization information is included before patient appointments in order to facilitate seamless service. The schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm, or Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm.

 

Responsibilities

 

 
  • Schedules patient consults and sends new patient packets with the medical history questionnaire, patient instruction, and any other preparation needed prior to their appointment to facilitate service.
  • Completes pre-registration for scheduled exams in order to ensure that it includes complete documentation of authorization information.
  • Schedules for department related exams or procedures for patients in an organized way to provide high quality and efficient service.
  • Ensures the correct patient and exam are selected for the appointment by using available sources to obtain/validate patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Matches orders to the correct scheduled exam and initiates solutions for incorrect orders and lab results in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent

 

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 4 years of experience scheduling patients for exams/procedures.
