Overview

 
The Philanthropy Grants and Gifts Manager leads post-award grant management (non-research) for Cone Health as well as oversees use of internal (departmental) grants and philanthropic gifts from the Philanthropic Foundation. In partnership with Corporate Accounting, Finance, departmental leaders and grant administrators, the responsibilities include managing grant budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring compliance with grant terms.

 

Responsibilities

 

 

External Grants Management:

 

In partnership with the grant administrators, ensure use of grant funds comply with grant agreements and Cone Health policies.

Create grant awards in ERP, enter budgets and associated workflows and approve expenditures ensuring alignment with grant terms.

Regularly review project progress and actual versus budget and identify situations that may require changes in grant agreement.

Provide regular grant progress reports to grant administrators and other Cone Health stakeholders.

Management of Philanthropic Foundation Internal Grants and Gifts:

Generate internal grant and gift agreements, payment processes, and reporting requirements and review with each grant recipient. Facilitate movement of funds between the Foundation and Cone Health.

Ensure all awards are used according to documentation and tracked in the ERP and Philanthropy database.

Provide regular reports and analysis on use of grants and gifts to the Philanthropic Foundation Board and Cone Health leadership.

 

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelors degree.
Preferred: Master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field.

 

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting. Working knowledge of accounting principles, experience in financial reporting and budgeting, and grants processes and strong reconciliation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Workday and grants management software.
Preferred: 5 years of relevant experience.
