Overview

The Supervisor Environmental Services performs supervisory functions in addition to daily and project cleaning services relating to Environmental Services in an assigned area of the facility. These services include the cleaning of hospitals, outpatient facilities, offices, clinics, meeting set-ups and waste removal. This position additionally assists with the managing of staff, materials, and financial resources to achieve efficient operations for the department. This position ensures that all services are performed while adhering to the organizational environmental and infection prevention standards and standards established by external regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities


Completes a daily cleaning assignment schedule while assessing and prioritizing the cleaning needs of the facility, assigning and delegating responsibilities to the front-line staff.
Ensures that staff assigned to area where medications are stored, do not touch/handle the medications and that they are escorted where narcotics are available.
Delivers services that consistently meet defined objectives (e.g. cleanliness standards, patient satisfaction).
Provides coaching and training to staff to maintain or improve job performance and documents activities appropriately.
Controls departmental supplies, tools, and equipment; within budget while ensuring appropriate resources are available to meet the operational needs.
Ensures equipment and storage areas are organized, secured, and clean.
Monitors productivity indicators using appropriate data collection tools/systems, duty list, and daily area assignment roster to ensure needs are met and completed according to departmental guidelines.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 5 years
