Overview

The Supervisor Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the anesthesia care provided by a team of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) within the organization. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of anesthesia during surgical procedures, while also providing leadership and guidance to the CRNA team.

Responsibilities


Supervises and coordinates the activities of the CRNA team, including assigning cases, monitoring workload, and ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet patient needs.
Provides clinical guidance and support to CRNAs, including reviewing and approving anesthesia plans, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols, and addressing any concerns or issues that arise during procedures.
Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement anesthesia care plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback to CRNAs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing training or development plans as needed.
Stays current with advancements in anesthesia practice and technology and facilitates ongoing education and professional development opportunities for the CRNA team.
Participates in quality improvement initiatives, including monitoring and analyzing anesthesia outcomes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required: Graduate with a minimum of a master's degree from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program (COA).

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 5 years

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) licensure. Recognition as an Advanced Practice RN by the NC Board of Nursing Certification/ Recertification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NCBRNA), BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider, ACLS Certification, PALs or NPR per campus recommendation.
