| The Pharmacy Technician Lead Certified Retail Specialty performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Working under limited supervision, this role maintains workflow, inventory, billing and other complex pharmacy processes. Additionally, they have ownership of a specialty area. |
| Oversees and directs pharmacy workflow including receiving and transcribing orders; answering phones; selling prescriptions; nonsterile compounding; and managing and maintaining automation. Maintains pharmacy inventory. Teaches other pharmacy technicians specialized job skills in order to support workplace learning. Serves as a mentor in the training and orientation of new employees. Leads and implements process improvement and departmental quality initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. |
| EDUCATION: |
| Required: High School Diploma or equivalent |
| EXPERIENCE: |
| Required: 7 years |
| LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: |
| Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician and must complete an 'advanced pharmacy technician certification' within 12 months of starting the role. |
