Overview

 
This role is responsible for the operation and function of the Hybrid OR imaging equipment and have the ability to assist during percutaneous and open vascular or cardiac procedures. Works with hospital management, surgeons, interventional cardiologist, radiologist, and referring physicians to promote high quality, safe, and cost effective patient care. This position serves the following age categories: adult and geriatric.

Responsibilities

 

 
Assist in procedures and coordinate with physicians and other OR staff: to provide services adequate to support the designated case.

Assist OR/CV leadership with the development and monitoring: of policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with OR standards, radiation safety, quality performance, and organizational goals and objectives, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate new employee orientation, skill development and education. Seek and develop training as needed to adapt to changing technologies and procedures. Assist with monitoring staffing levels to provide quality services for patients and physicians.

Coordinate purchasing of supplies and stock levels. Maintain supply cost within designated budget and continually review opportunities for reduction of supply cost. Alert management to equipment needs required to support cases.

Has a thorough knowledge of the Information Systems and PACS/Merge system.

Maintain a high degree of knowledge and skill relative to corporate and departmental policies and procedures. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of departmental clinical equipment and procedure protocols.

Must be able to respond to multiple request and prioritize effectively.

Must possess a full and complete knowledge of all hybrid OR procedures, including related anatomy, physiology, and clinical positioning skills, in addition to the skills required on their originating unit.

Must possess basic supervisory skills. Must be able to develop effective working relationships with surgeons, cardiologists, radiologist, anesthesiologist, OR staff, and others working in this environment. Must possess effective communication skills.

Provides oversight of staff during the use of hybrid imaging equipment: Responsible for promoting radiation and functional safety during use. Notify management and biomedical personnel of any concerns with equipment functionality.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:
Required:

Graduate for one or more of the following programs required:

? Nursing

? Radiology Technology

? Respiratory Therapy

? Cardiovascular Technology (This requirement may be waived for individuals hired into and currently working in Cone Health?s Cardiac Cath Lab prior to this being a hiring requirement in 2008. If waived, must have a High School Diploma or equivalent).

? Graduate of an Allied Health Degree Program

Preferred:

Graduate for one or more of the following programs required:

? Nursing

? Radiology Technology

? Respiratory Therapy

? Cardiovascular Technology (This requirement may be waived for individuals hired into and currently working in Cone Health?s Cardiac Cath Lab prior to this being a hiring requirement in 2008. If waived, must have a High School Diploma or equivalent).

 

EXPERIENCE:
Required:

? Three years interventional cardiovascular or peripheral vascular experience and demonstrated leadership ability.

Preferred:

? Three years interventional cardiovascular or peripheral vascular experience and demonstrated leadership ability.

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
REQUIRED

Drivers License | Valid Drivers License

BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider

Required:

Must hold the following credentials:

? Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), AART-CIR or ARRT-VIR.( www.cci-online.org, www.arrt.org, www.arrt.org)

Must at all times hold the following required credentials:

? Must maintain licensure (appropriated to clinical training).

? Must maintain Registry (appropriated to clinical training).

Preferred:

? Must obtain Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) within 24 months of hire or position will be subject to termination.

? Must maintain licensure, certifications, and or registry continuously without lapse.

NOTE: If driving Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
