Overview

Support role for Coding Department for basic Coding and abstracting of medical information. Responsible for assigning ICD 9 CM and CPT 4 diagnosis and procedure codes on a daily basis, including the sequencing of co- morbidities and complications and procedure codes that impact reimbursement.

Responsibilities


Accurately and efficiently assign ICD.9 and CPT codes to charges per established departmental standards

Attend coding sessions and participating in coding development

--------------------------------------------------

Research and resolve any ineligible charges for missing and/or incomplete data

--------------------------------------------------

Run reports as needed by manager

--------------------------------------------------

Submission of medical records for chart reviews

--------------------------------------------------

Work out charges through Charge Review WQ, assess errors by either correcting or notifying someone. Work to identify trends to assist with education

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent, Required


EXPERIENCE:
2 years, Required

2+ years of coding experience required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
REQUIRED

AACP | ARMC AMER ACAD PROFES CODERS
